Here you get the route, interactive map and our honest assessment of the coastal tour around the Torre d’Aubarca — plus a GPX track as an offline backup in case you have no signal on the way.

Highlights of the Torre d’aubarca hike

You will find the watchtower Torre d’Aubarca at about the halfway point of the route. It is well preserved and definitely worth exploring. Here you can find out more about the history of these towers, which are located on the north side of the island.

In addition, this rather easy hike is ideally suited to combining hiking and swimming because of the many bays.

What to keep in mind

The hike follows the coast and you repeatedly come across small bays that invite you to swim. In principle, you can also extend the tour as far as s’Arenalet des Verger, which we also reach on this tour.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE Torre d’Aubarca hike

WHERE DOES THE HIKE TO TORRE D’AUBARCA START?

The starting point is in the Llevant Nature Park — accessible via a narrow road to the official car park. This is located a bit inland ( 39.747176, 3.404998).

HOW DEMANDING IS THE HIKE?

The tour is technically easy, with no significant elevation gain, and mostly follows clearly visible paths. There is no shade, however. Overall, we have classified the tour as easy.

HOW LONG DOES THE HIKE TAKE?

The pure walking time is around 2.5 hours — however, numerous bays invite you to swim, so you should allow more time overall. If you continue one bay further, you also reach s’Arenalet des Verger, where you can even stay overnight (booking required).

IS IT POSSIBLE TO LOSE THE WAY ALONG THE ROUTE?

The route is not particularly difficult to follow, as it mostly runs along the coast. However, it is safer with our interactive 2D map with live location, especially for the section from the car park to the first bay.

DO I NEED A SPECIAL APP FOR NAVIGATION?

No! Like all our routes, you can access the route directly in your browser with GPS location — without an app or registration. Just make sure you bring enough battery life or a power bank for your smartphone.

ARE THERE PLACES TO EAT OR WATER ALONG THE WAY?

No — the route runs entirely through uninhabited terrain. You need to bring water, provisions and sun protection.

IS THE TOUR SUITABLE FOR FAMILIES?

For hiking-experienced families with older children, this can be a great adventure. For younger children, it is rather unsuitable because of the length.

WHAT ARE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ROUTE?

The historic watchtower stands spectacularly on a cliff above the sea. It not only offers wide views, but also insight into Mallorca’s defensive history. It is well preserved and definitely worth exploring.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE WE THINK YOU SHOULD KEEP IN MIND?

Don’t forget your swimming gear and sunscreen.
